The Police… Live!

Hi all…

I had a chance to see The Police tour live in Denver this month (not a cheap chance, but one we felt we needed to take!) and I have to say that it was a lot of fun.

The opening band was infinitely forgettable, but once the trio got on stage, we had fun until the end.

I have to say the beginning of the concert was a bit rough… The drummer, Stewart Copeland, fought hard to keep Sting (base and vocals) and Andy Summers (lead guitar) together — they were all over the place. But by the end of the second song, they were jamming along just fine.

What was most amusing to my wife and I was the crowd… There were ladies in their 30s and 40s screaming their fool heads’ off as Sting would walk anywhere near the edge of the stage near us (keep in mind that we were in the nosebleed seats in Pepsi Center). It was an interesting mix of young and old. I think we were about the average age (mid-30s).

At any rate… If you get a chance to see them, it was worth it. I have loved the music of The Police since the ’80s. And I knew more lyrics to sing along with than I could believe. 🙂

Talk to you later…
