Trailer Time: Saturday Edition

Hi all…

With Comic-Con in full swing in San Diego this week, news has been coming fast and furious about movie teasers and trailers. I thought I’d provide links to a few that sparked my interest…

Hot Tub Time Machine

This looks hilarious with John Cusack, Crispin Glover, and Chevy Chase from director Steve Pink, who wrote High Fidelity and Grosse Point Blank as well as being a producer on Entourage. This trailer is definitely NSFW (Not Safe For Work), but it evokes sort of a modern take on Bill and Ted. 🙂 Check it out here

Tron Legacy (aka Tron 2.0)

A sequel to Tron has been in the works for at least a couple of years now and we’re starting to see the mighty Disney machine start to spread glimpses of what’s to come. This trailer got my geek juices flowing freely. 🙂

Stargate Universe (SGU)

I have been a long-time fan of the Stargate universe and Stargate Universe (SGU) was announced last summer as Stargate Atlantis came to a close. Finally we’ve gone beyond teasers and have seen an actual trailer that sparked my interest. Check out my post about it here

Ninja Assassin

Any time the Wachowski brothers get together, I have to take a look. Even though Speed Racer was a disappointment, V for Vendetta and The Matrix (the original movie, not the sequels) will forever have a place in my brain. 🙂 Ninja Assassin looks to have some amazing stunts, so we’ll hope that it’s not a train wreck like Speed. See more here.

And lastly…

Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton)

This is another movie that caught my attention early on. The mere idea that Tim Burton would do Lewis Carroll’s classic work just tickled my funny bone. If anyone can actually get the drug-addled trip down the Rabbit Hole right – it’ll be Burton. And where there’s Burton, typically Johnny Depp isn’t far behind. Depp as The Mad Hatter is a gifted choice. And the trailer shows a bit of the gift… here.

And that ends this episode of Trailer Time… I hope to make this a regular feature, so please let me know if you’d like to see more!

Thanks go to Ain’t It Cool News, ComingSoon.net, and the MTV Movie Blog for the trailer links.
