It seems that the Writers will resume talks with the Studios and Networks after the holidays (courtesy of Variety). I think this is a very good thing and hope they all get their acts together.
Without the writers, there are no movies, no television shows, not even any commercials… So they are the grease that keeps the gears of the media production industry from grinding to a halt… And when the scripts run out, they will certainly do that.
We can only hope that it happens sooner than later for all the freshmen shows of the season… I’m addicted to Chuck, Bionic Woman, and Big Bang Theory to name a few, and without new scripts for these shows, we’ll be seeing a lot of re-runs and (pardon my French) crappy reality television sooner than later.
So to the studios and networks, I ask them to give thanks to the writers. Without them we’ll all be turning off our televisions and stop seeing movies at the theater. On the other hand, the movie rental industry (online and traditional DVDs) should pick up briskly. 🙂
Hope you’re all having a great weekend!
