Hi all!
This one slipped right by me. How did I not know that the guys who worked on the Crank movies have a different genre of movie coming out? Gamer looks like one hell of a science fiction story – vaguely like Ender‘s Game from Orson Scott Card, but with the edge of something like Death Race.
There’s a MMORPG played with real people – “volunteers” from the penal system willing to reduce their sentences if they play the game. But it’s almost slavery. Inside the game, the people playing control your moves, not you. It stars Gerard Butler (300), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) and is directed by Crank and Crank High Voltage visionaries Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.
Check out the cool new trailer at GamerTheMovie.com. The movie comes out September 4, 2009!
