Last season, I was instantly a fan of the new show Top Shot on the HISTORY Channel, which pit modern marksmen (and markswomen) against historical challenges using some surprising weapons. So when we heard that the new season was starting up, we were thrilled!
Season 2 starts tonight at 10/9c on HISTORY with a new set of 16 competitors. And again, they come from a variety of backgrounds with different levels of experience. But a couple of things remain the same – they all want to win $100,000 and the title of “Top Shot.” Hosted by Colby Donaldson, it will be interesting to see what challenges await these marksmen.
Weapons will be a bit different this season than last as well, according to the HISTORY website:
“Weapons this season include more than 20 weapons including the iconic “Tommy Gun“, the .44 Magnum, and a .50 caliber sniper rifle. Not just firearms, the competition also includes archery and primitive weapons as well.”
Last year it was Iain Harrison who took home the title. And we were rooting for Kelly Bachand as well. Who will be our favorites this season?
Be sure to tune in tonight at 10/9c on HISTORY for the season premiere of TOP SHOT!
In a manly way, I love Mike Rowe. His sense of humor is infectious and that baritone voice was simply made for television. So when I can, I try to catch episodes of Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe on the Discovery channel.
In tonight’s episode, Mike works on making cornmeal the old fashioned way… And he runs into issues of course… Who knew getting water onto the water wheel would be so tough!
DIRTY JOBS WITH MIKE ROWE
On Tuesday, November 9 at 9PM ET/PT, Mike travels to De Kalb, Mississippi to make cornmeal at an old-fashioned millhouse that uses water-driven millstones to make the meal from whole kernels of corn. Later, he is in Texas to relocate the Pere David’s deer, a Chinese deer that has gone extinct in its native land, but still exists in captivity across the United States and Europe. Mike’s mission is to gather a male and female deer, and transport them back to their native habitat, in hopes of creating a new herd.
About DIRTY JOBS WITH MIKE ROWE:
Host and creator Mike Rowe travels the country to showcase the downright dirty jobs that most people would go out of their way to avoid. From landfill operators to scrapple makers to horse testers, Mike serves as apprentice to the hard-working and skilled men and women who make civilized life possible for the rest of us each and every day. Since the series first debuted in 2005, DIRTY JOBS WITH MIKE ROWE has provided a behind-the-scenes look at over 250 dirty jobs (and counting!) — in industries ranging from construction to sanitation to manufacturing. DIRTY JOBS WITH MIKE ROWE was nominated for two Emmys® this year — in Outstanding Cinematography For Reality Programming and in Outstanding Reality Program.
