Hi all…
Don’t know if you heard or not, but there was a movement afoot for people, businesses, and groups around the world to turn out their lights for one hour on March 29, 2008 at 8pm.
Source: Wikipedia
The idea wasn’t that one hour would change the world, but that one hour might get people around the world thinking about energy conservation. Even Google got into the act last night, going dark. And around the world, many thousands of people got the idea.
You can find out more about the movement here… at EarthHour.org.
We at home turned out all the lights for an hour and sat, singing and talking to candlelight in our living room. Though my girls, 3 and 7, were a little antsy, my wife suggested we do it at least once a month.
So what did everybody else do for earth hour?

Hi Andraž!
I read about Zemanta on TechCrunch and have to say it’s a great tool! I will be writing about it soon on the blog to hopefully get more people using it!
So far it’s working great. It’s nice to have the images & links ready-made for me!

When I went to Google on Saturday, I didn’t know what was going on. I had to refresh my browser and then I read something about Earth Hour.

I find it interesting that Google is one of the few huge names that’s really publicizing their efforts to make their operation more environmentally friendly — producing less heat, reusing it, reducing carbon footprint, and so on. They are definitely not the only company doing it, but they’re certainly getting a lot of good press out of it.
