Hi all!
Yes, it’s banned books week! Time to break out some of those books certain groups and establishments would rather we not.
I am wholeheartedly against banning and burning books. I love books. Even if I don’t agree with them, all authors have a right to their opinion like everyone else in our country. I have the right to choose what I read and don’t read. The government can’t do that for me.
You don’t agree with someone? Write about it. Share your opinions. We live in a country where it’s allowed. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing. Censorship sucks. And the First Amendment rules.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
—The First Amendment
Enjoy your right to read. We’ve earned it.
Don’t forget to vote so we can protect our rights by placing those people in office who hold that the freedoms in this country should not be forgotten or stepped on.

I was trying to pick which book to read next. I guess that leaves me to decide whether to pick up Catch-22 or Golden Compass this week. Thanks!
