Cow gas and global warming? What???

I had to comment on this because it’s just too bizarre not to mention. According to Gizmodo this morning (see the article here), Argentenian scientists have way too much time on their hands.
To combat global warming, they decided to test to see how much methane a typical cow emits in a day. According to the story, they emitted between 8,000 and 1,000 liters of methane a day. And methane is 23x worse than carbon dioxide for global warming apparently.
We’d heard that cow farts were noxious? But this takes the cake…

Old news… Some years ago, Australia was considering to put a surtax on cow farming for the same reason.

That’s interesting. I knew that the whole cow gas methane question had been around for quite a while, but didn’t know that folks had tried to tax it. Don’t politicians everywhere create enough methane to match all the cows worldwide…
